Concrete as Art - Sidewalk Artists We Love and Inspiration for Your Driveway
Talented pioneers have recently reignited the street art trend with hyper realistic 3- dimensional imagery and landscapes painted on city streets. Here, we’ll showcase work from three of the most famous street artists. Read all the way to the end for extra inspiration to turn YOUR OWN driveway or sidewalk into one-of-a-kind ARTWORK!
Edgar Mueller
Edgar Mueller, born in July of 1968, has traveled all across Europe since the age of 25, painting fascinating, pedestrian-stopping spectacles. Mueller’s style focuses mostly on 3-D landscapes. Think: plunging cliffs, epic waterfall scenes, and raging volcanoes, like one of his most famous—“Lava Burst.”
Julian Beever
Julian Beever is arguably the most famous 3-D street artist worldwide. “Swimming Pool” and “Coca-Cola” are two of his most nostalgic crowd favorites. Visitors can pretend to dip their toes into crystal-clear blue pool water, mostly occupied by a long-legged, blonde-haired 1950’s bombshell in a red bikini. Or, they can make believe they’re about to open the biggest bottle of Coca-Cola known to humankind.
Kurt Wenner
In Rome of 1982, an American artist, named Kurt Wenner transformed the complex geometry of Classical Italian Architecture into a totally unique form of popular art. All 3-D street artists, whether they call their art form street painting, chalk painting, sidewalk painting, or pavement artistry, can trace their craft back to Kurt Wenner’s pastel drawings in Rome.

The concrete slabs on your property (or those in front of it, aka, your sidewalk) can become beautiful works of chalk, paint, or pastel art. But, an artist needs a reliable canvas.
